How To Get Your Articles Read
from: Glenn CutforthA lot of people dread having to do any type of writing because they feel it's just too much work and all their time is just wasted because no one reads what they write anyway. For some, reading articles, especially if the article is boring and very bland isn't any fun either. However, the purpose of an article is to be read, that’s their purpose -- to impart your message and information. Certainly of it isn't read by someone then the effort put forth to write the article was a waste of your time and effort.
Article are written to be read, so it’s just a matter of making them quality articles. Writing a good article doesn’t have to be a laborious task. All you have to do is follow a few guidelines and once you get the hang of it, writing articles can be quite fun, as well as profitable for you and your site.
Of course, when writing an articles it should be about something you know about. If you own a site, no doubt you have some knowledge or expertise about the theme of the site. Therefore, when you write about this topic, you shouldn't have a difficult time knowing what to write. It's just a matter of writing your articles in a creative and interesting style.
Therefore, to make sure you write articles that are read and enjoyed, here are important tips you should intetrate into your writing process.
1) Keep Your Paragraphs Short: If your paragraph are too long, the words can get jumbled in the mind of a reader which can cause confusion and and make it hard work for them to continue reading. Reader will quickly disregard the paragraph and move on to something much easier to read easier on their eyes. So don't be afraid to more a paragraph from a a single sentence, sometimes even a single word!
2) Use Numbered Lists and Bullet Points: As each point is state, numbers and bullets make it easier to remember and digest. As each point, tip, advice or method is started with a bullet, readers will understand that this is where the tip starts and its importance. Format you bullets and numbers with indentations so your article won’t look like a single block of square paragraphs. This helps to add a little flair and pizzazz to your articles shape.
3) Use Sub-headings: This will breakup each point into sections, but still incorporate them into one complete article. This makes it easy for the reader to make a smooth transition from one point to the next, which means you'll never lose your readers attention and they'll have a better understanding of the point you're trying to make.
4) Make sure Your Title Grabs Their Attention: If your title can entice a person's curiosity you've taken the first step in getting them to read your article. Use statements and questions that utilize keywords people are searching out. The title or header should describe your article content in as short and concise a manner as possible.
Use titles such as, “Tips On ...”, or “How To ...” .You can also use titles to command people, for example, "Six Easy Ways to ...". These types of titles reach out and grabs a persons' emotions and gets them interested.
5) Maintain Interest from Start to Finish: Your opening paragraph can use a real life situation a reader can identify with. Integrate good descriptive words and metaphors to make your point, however, don’t over do it. Getting your point across with graphic metaphors and similes makes it easier for a reader to picture in their mid what you're trying to say, so make the experience of reading your article as pleasurable and enjoyable for them as possible.
6) Avoid cliches and Insipid Statements: Use specific facts and figures to heighten interest in your article which will enhance its authority, but don't make it too formal. It should be light and easy and flow in a logical manner, as if you're a.friendly teacher having a chat with an eager student.
