How To Get Your Creative Juices Going
from: Glenn CutforthThe process of writing articles isn't just putting your thoughts into words and then typing it up. A good requires that you capture and maintain the interest of your readers. To get your message across, you need to get the readers attention and also have undersand what their interest is, which will help you to pique their curiosity.
The main requirement in setting out to wirte a quality article is creativity. Of course, creativity comes more naturally to some people, while other get suffer from ongoing writer's block that makes it difficult for them to sustain writing an article for any period of time. Many people who attempt to write literally tear their hair out when faced with writers block and find it difficult to to get their creative juices flowing.
Having the ability to put words into images in a readers mind could be called an art. Being able to find the right words that create a clear picture in a person's mind requires a gift that only comes when you exercise your creativity. Using similes and metaphors witll help, but how you handle each word, sentence and paragraph into a complete article will develop the essence of the the information being presented.
So how do you deal with writer's block? There's no surefire way to get the perfect idea whenever you need one, but there are different ways to get your creative juices flowing. Here are five steps you can take to accomplish this.
1) Keep a diary or a journal with you at all times. An idea can be triggered by just about anything you hear, see or even smell. Your senses are your radar to find creative ideas. Write all of your thoughts and ideas into a journal for future reference. Write down anything you've read or heard that might prove to be useful since someone else's ideas can be used to develop your own ideas. Ideas and creativity can come from anywhere but it’s your own unique development of the idea that will make it stand out.
2) Stay relaxed until you're able to sort things out. A jumbled mind can't create space for creative ideas. You should have a clear mind if you hope to have your creativity beging to take over and steer you in the right direction. Eliminate any of the usual obstacles that block your creativity, such as worry, anxiety and fear of failure. It's difficult to focus your mind if you're experiencing any of these emotions.
Just relax and tyr to think about your experiences and relationshps with others. What you've experienced in life is what shapes your mindset and opinions and makes them unique and this will be reflected in what you write. Dig deep into yourself and try to discover what triggers your emotions and what inspires you and what makes you angry. All of these these emotions will help you to express your thoughts and ideas and with this, your creativity will grow.
3) Setup a work area that inspire your creativity. The place you work might be a hindrance if it you're unable to focus and relax. Your creativity is likely to be unleased from from a positive state of mind. Therefore, a cluttered or messy workplace that causes distractions won’t be the best situation for getting your creative juices flowing.
Make sure your work area is filled with objects that can help to make you happy and relaxed. Some examples would be pictures, or scents or objects that inspire you -- anything that takes you out of the doldrums and puts you into a creative state of mind.
4) Create the proper mood. If you set the proper mood for creativity, you will force yourself into feeling the way you always feel when your mind is working at its best. Discovering what makes you tick is a good way to get your creative juices flowing as well. Get yourself into the right mood and everything else will likely follow.
How do you accomplish this? Some writers might have a glass of wine to stir their imagination while others use the right kind of mood music and still others makes sure the lighting in their work area creates the proper mood.
5) Getaway from yourself and try doing something different. Let yourself go by having fun can produce adrenaline that can make your imagination grow. You might try an adventure or hike. Whatever you do that is a break for your unusual routine can get you out of a rut and before you no it, you're feeling creative and relaxed this will get your imagination working overtime.
